For our first theme, let's start with the one thing that has always been there before humankind, nature. Nature is all around us so it's pretty easy to make songs related to her. The sound of the rain, the blowing of the wind, an island in the sun, and many more symbols pertaining to Mother Earth. These images are common no matter where on earth you are. Well, except for snow, of course. We don't have snow in the Philippines so not all Filipinos can relate to the winter solstice songs.
Let's just hope that nature lives as long (or even longer) than the human race so future generations can continue singing songs about her.
"Even when the thunder and storm begin, I'll be standing strong like a tree in the wind. Nothing's gonna move this mountain or change my direction." -Believe, Dima Bilan
"Safe here on my island" -In Your Eyes, Niamh Kavanagh
"I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain." -I am the Voice, Eimear Quinn
"Like a mighty river flowing from a stream" -Love Shine a Light, Katrina and the Waves
"In the summer night, when the moon shines bright, feeling love forever." -Fly on the Wings at Love, The Olsen Brothers
"Turn to stare at the empty skies" -Every Way that I Can, Sertab Erener
"You will be the sun to my rainy season." -My Number One, Elena Paparizou
"I wanna be the sunshine in your arms. I wanna be the light of your shooting stars." -I Wanna, Marie N.
